Repository Search

Searching GitHub

The toolbar on the Repositories page searches all of GitHub, not the repositories you have already connected. Type a keyword and press Enter, or click Search, and the matches open in the Search Results dialog.

Public repositories are returned for any account. Private repositories appear only after you log in with GitHub, and the Search Results dialog offers the same Login with GitHub inline if you are not logged in yet.

Each row shows the repository name, description, visibility, license, and last update, followed by Connect. If you have already connected the repository, the row shows Disconnect instead.

Browsing your own repositories

Connect Repository next to your account button opens a separate Repositories on GitHub dialog. It lists every repository your GitHub account can see and has its own inline filter, so you can browse your private and public repositories without running a keyword search.
